God’s Creation – Adam and Eve : Kids Bible stories
God created the very first man and named him Adam. Adam was very happy and content in the Garden of Eden, where God had placed him to care for and nurture the land. One day, God created the first woman, named Eve, to be Adam’s companion and helper.
God told Adam and Eve that they could eat from any fruit from the trees in the garden except for the fruit from the tree of good and evil. God warned them that if they ate from that tree, they would surely die. Adam and Eve were very obedient and followed God’s instructions carefully.
But one day, a sneaky snake came to the garden and spoke to Eve. The snake tempted her to eat the fruit from the forbidden tree, promising her that she would become like God if she did so. Even though Eve knew she wasn’t supposed to eat it, the snake’s words were too tempting. She ate the fruit and then gave some to Adam to eat as well.
As soon as they ate the fruit, Adam and Eve realized they had done something very wrong. They were overcome with shame and tried to hide from God. But God knew what had happened and he came looking for them.
When he found them, they were hiding in the bushes. God asked Adam and Eve why they were hiding and they confessed that they had eaten the forbidden fruit. God was disappointed in them, but he also knew that they were sorry for what they had done.
From that day on, life was different for Adam and Eve. They had to leave the Garden of Eden and work hard to grow their own food. But God still loved them and promised to always take care of them.
The story of Adam and Eve teaches us that it’s important to listen to God’s instructions and to not give in to temptation. It also reminds us that even when we make mistakes, God still loves us and wants us to do better.
