ENGLISH VERSION: Today’s Bible Verse (04.01.2023):

VERSE:
But thou, Bethlehem Ephratah,…yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel;… ( MICAH 5:2 KJV)

EXPLANATION:
I greet you in the name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Today, we are meditating on Micah 5:2 which says, “But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, …. out of you will come for me One who will be ruler over Israel.”

Parallel to this verse, we find David writing about God’s sovereignty in several Psalms as in Psalm 135:13 where he says, “[God] Your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and Your dominion endures through all generations.” Psalms 10:16 and 29:10 says, “the Lord is King forever and ever.” Psalm 24:10 also declares that “the Lord is the King of glory.”

Not only is the Lord Almighty the King, but He has also made us follow His ways by giving us His grace. Revelation 1:5 says, “Jesus, the firstborn from the dead and the ruler over the kings” and goes on to say in Revelation 5:10 about the great blessing that the Lord has given us all through the Lord Jesus.

When we look into this great blessing a little further in I Peter 2:9, it beautifully declares, “But you are a chosen people, a ROYAL PRIESTHOOD, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of Him.”

Indeed, the Lord Jesus Christ came into this world, as the King. When you believe in Him, you become His treasured child. You will be called “His own special people, a royal priesthood.” What a great blessing isn’t it?
Beloved, be glad that you are becoming a holy and royal priesthood.

So, turn your eyes upon Jesus and accept Him as your Saviour. He will then cleanse you from all your unrighteousness and unwanted deeds of this world. You will be transformed by the King into a royal person. What a joyful experience it is! Give praises and thanks to the King of kings and the Lord of lords and receive this great blessing in your life.

PRAYER:
Precious Lord ! Thank You for Your uplifting promise. Thank You for sending Your Son, Jesus as our Messiah and King into this world. Even now, Lord, I dedicate my life completely into Your loving hands. Lord Jesus, You are my Lord and my Saviour. Deliver me from every sinful bondage. Break every stronghold and curse over my life. Lord, make me Your royal priesthood so that I will declare Your praises to others and glorify Your holy name. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
