Your blog gives you another platform to spread the Gospel. You and I know that there are millions of people out there that need to hear the truth. So use your blog entries to highlight a bible verse that has touched your heart or changed your life. Include that verse in your blog post and connect with your reader by telling a story or giving a biblically solid explanation of the verse. Trust me it will touch someone’s heart out there in cyberspace. Your blog could bring someone to know and accept Jesus Christ!
Blogging creates fans! When you blog consistently with a focus you develop a fan base. These fans will look forward to what you have to say and visit your site over and over again. The more that you blog the more that you will build an audience that trusts you. Your teaching, tips and advice will become credible with your audience.
Blogging helps you rank better with search engines. When you create more and more blog posts you are creating a larger web presence. You should be blogging at least 10 to 20 times a month. I know this is hard but it will help so so much! Your site is growing improving the probability of one of your pages being discovered. Make sure that you are placing relevant keywords (words or phrases that someone would Google to find your website) in your blog post titles so that people within your target market find your blog. The search engines, like Google, like bigger website. They have more to index which improves your web rank.
Blogging raises your conversion rate. Like I stated above, when you blog at least 10 to 20 times per month you are increasing your web footprint which in turn increases the probability of your site being discovered. So it is only logical that the more quality traffic that you receive from your blog will turn into album and book sales or bookings or sermon downloads. Here is a tip: Include the products or merchandise that you are trying to sell on the sidebar of your blog. Create a call to action for people to check out your products or merchandise. For example on your sidebar include a picture or your branded T-Shirt with text below that reads “Get your new (insert bandname) T-Shirt now!”. Remember to include keywords that are relevant to your ministry in the blog post titles.
Blogging ideas:
- Each day post a verse that you read during your daily bible study and explain what you have learned.
- Teach your audience how to do something or educate them with tips about your skill set
- Inform your audience about other Singers, Authors or Youth Speakers that you like
- Invite a friend to guest blog. This takes a bit of the workload off of you.
- Write about your tour or conference. Highlight special events and exciting things that you are doing.
