Zacchaeus – Bible story for kids
Zacchaeus was a tax collector.
He became very rich by taking tax money from others and stealing some for himself.
He was a nasty person.
Nobody liked Zacchaeus.
One day, Jesus visited Zacchaeus’ town.
Zacchaeus was so short, he couldn’t see Jesus over the crowds.
Nobody would let Zacchaeus near the front.
Zacchaeus had a good idea.
He climbed up a tree. Now he could see Jesus easily.
But Zacchaeus had a big surprise.
When Jesus arrived at the tree, He told Zacchaeus to come down.
Jesus wanted to go to his house.
The other people didn’t like that Jesus made time for a bad person like Zacchaeus.
But Zacchaeus changed his life after meeting Jesus.
He gave half his money to the poor. He gave back four-times the money he stole.
Salvation came to Zacchaeus’ house.
